It’s self-care Sunday so why not end the night relaxing while repairing your skin. I’ve suffered from dry skin for some time now and it is extremely bad on my face. I would notice my skin peeling around my nose and forehead, especially when I applied makeup. I’ve researched different products and tried tons of remedies but nothing seemed to work. One day my friend suggested a sugar scrub because the exfoliating face wash I’d been using wasn’t working. So I thought, well why not! To my amazement, I finally began to see results when I applied the scrub that I created in my kitchen. It helped remove the dead skin to reveal a flawless rejuvenated face. So, if you have dry skin or just want to try an affordable mini facial at home, check out the awesome DIY sugar scrubs below.
Sidenote: For most sugar scrubs featured, I’d recommend massaging it on your clean face for no more than 5 minutes then rinsing with luke warm water.
Sugar & Coconut Oil Scrub (LaNese’s Choice)
The name of this facial scrub pretty much sums up its ingredients. This is the simplest and the most effective scrub for my face. Just combine 3 tablespoons of any granulated sugar with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and you’re good to go.
Blueberry & Honey Scrub
Want to try a unique scrub? The Blueberry & Honey Scrub may be for you. Blend 1/2 cup fresh blueberries, 2 tablespoons of honey and 1 – 2 tablespoons sugar until smooth. Add a generous layer to your face and let sit for 15 minutes before rinsing.
Lemon & Sugar Scrub
If you suffer from breakouts and acne try the Lemon & Sugar Scrub. The lemon tightens pores and evens out the skin tone while the sugar cleans pores. Squeeze 1/2 a lemon right into a bowl, add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and stir. That’s it!
