6 Ways to get Rid of Dark Under Eye Circles

Hey, lovelies! Let’s get straight to the nitty-gritty and talk about one of the annoyances that have affected me since I can remember. Dark under eye circles! They can become present for several reasons like lack of sleep, dehydration, visible veins under your eyes or sun overexposure. In my case, it was inherited from my mom and dad. Who would have thought that dark under eyes was genetic?

For the last few years, I have made it my mission to try to get rid of my under-eye bags or at least lighten them a little. I have read tons of articles and talked to dermatologists. As a result, I have compiled a list of 6 ways to reduce dark under eyes circles based on my experience and others.

Eye Masks

A good eye mask can go a long way when you’re trying to get rid of under eye circles. It can be used several times a week to reduce puffiness.

Do find yourself pulling all-nighters and lacking in the sleep department? Create optimal conditions for quality sleep and make sure to get 7-8 hours per night to help reduce dark under eye circles.

Eye Creams

Many eye creams in the market can help reduce the appearance of dark under eye circles. I would recommend using a caffeine cream as it’s rich in antioxidants and can also help reduce fluid retention in puffy eyes.

Cold Compression

Cold compression can help reduce swelling and shrink enlarged blood vessels. This, in turn, helps eliminate dark circles. One easy way to apply cold compressions to your eyes is to wrap a few ice cubes in a clean washcloth and place it under your eyes for 20 minutes.

Facial Roller

Jade rollers are not just great for your face, but under eyes as well. Like the cold compression, the cool jade roller is said to reduce swelling and also improve blood circulation around the eyes.

Ladies, ditch the coffee or Matcha latte for a nice glass of water. Make sure you are drinking the recommended 8 cups a day to reduce the appearance of dark under eye circles. When the body is dehydrated, it responds by retaining as much water as it can, thus causing under eye bags.
